Although no official announcement has been made, we’re taking sneak peek under the specs of one of HTC’s reportedly forthcoming mobile phones, the HTC Zeta. While it’s not the only developing phone HTC is developing, we couldn’t help but be drawn to its name, so here we are.
Rumours have it that the HTC Zeta, which looks very sleek and modern, by the way, to offer a 2.5 GHz, quad-core – yes, four, not two – processor via the next-gen Snapdragon CPU. It’s supposed to present a 4.5-inch, 720p HD display and 1 GB user/1024 system RAM – amazing.
The HTC Zeta supposedly gifts a 8 MP rear camera and a 1.3 MP front camera in a slim 109.8 x 60.9 x 9.8 mm (4.32 x 2.40 x 0.39 inches) package. The video or camcorder plays and records at 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p HD) – brilliant!
Its display specifications include the 4.5-inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixel touchscreen with an automatic light sensor that adjusts to indoor or outdoor lighting and a proximity sensor as well.
And one of the biggest rumour points is that the HTC Zeta will have the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, something we’d love to get more exposure to.
Remember: These are rumoured and unofficially leaked tidbits of information. We have no idea how close these figures are to the actual features and capabilities of the actual model, due to be announced some time close to or at the Mobile World Conference 2012 in February. It’s not unusual for manufacturers to officially announce new models in January, just before MWC kicks off.
HTC has suffered market share loss during the last several months and is concentrating on top end mobile phones to wrestle their way back into the top mobile slots.
HTC CEO Winston Yung stated in an interview,
“We will focus on the product next year, better and more competitive. Other than new LTE phones for the U.S. market, we also have phones for the global market. We will launch some worldwide flagship products. We’re confident in them.”
That’s great news for mobile phone users and to HTC fans specifically!
